St. Peter’s Church in the Great Valley
This is another version of our chapel organ, housed in a 9ft tall case. A parish of the Anglican communion founded well before the American Revolution, St. Peter’s Church recently built its new timber-framed parish center in the style of a traditional Pennsylvania bank barn. This building supplements the original 18th-century church with educational and gathering spaces. Both buildings are situated in an idyllic hilltop nature preserve near Valley Forge in suburban Philadelphia. The space in which the organ is located is a multi-purpose Community Outreach Hall in which the parish’s Sunday morning family service is held. The organ is mounted on a rolling platform, permitting easy relocation when the room is used for other purposes. Jonathan Ambrosino served as the consultant for the project. The church’s music ministry is led by Organist and Choirmaster Dr. Martha Niepold Johnson, and Associate Organist / Choirmaster Dr. Bruce W. Glenny.
